Digital transformation of the merchandise receival process through quality surveying and the detection on each coil of possible defects.
OPERATING CONTEXT
The coils subject to manufacturing are steel reels weighing a few tons each and of varying widths and lengths.They are received and then analyzed and elaborated in acid tanks. The merchandise is transported via tractor-trailer with one truck transporting from one to six coils each.
SOLUTION PROVIDED BY AIKNOW
Design and development of an Android app, substituting old Windows CE terminals, to collect information on each coil during their unloading phase. Design of a web application used to consult the data collected and for integration with the company’s management systems.
Specially:
- Integration with the weighing system of the tractor-trailers (in and out)
- Integration with the unloading crane’s balance spring
- Integration with the company’s management system IBM AS400 for the retrieval and documentation of identifying information related to the merchandise and client
- Collecting and sending photos of the coils during unloading phase to the company’s documentation system
- Integration with the RTLS coil localization system in the company’s warehouse
- On-premises installation within client’s company infrastructure
